Step 1:

  1. Copy of applicant’s CNIC

  3. Power of attorney (if there is more than one owner)
  4. No Objection Certificate (NOC) if you are a tenant

  6. A copy of the relevant tariff signed by the consumer

Step 3:
Submit the application form. Then print a copy and attach all required documents. Send it to the concerned MEPCO office.

Step 4:
After verification, MEPCO will issue a demand notice showing the connection fee.

Step 5:
Pay the demand notice at the designated bank and submit the paid copy to the concerned office.

Step 6:

MEPCO New Connection Application Process

The cost of a new electricity connection depends on several factors such as: Connection type, Electricity load (for example 1kW, 2kW, or more) and Area and infrastructure requirements. The exact fee is mentioned in the demand notice issued by MEPCO.

Estimated Charges

  • Rural Areas: Approximately 10,000 to 12,000 PKR
  • Urban Areas (including housing societies): Approximately 10,000 to 12,000 PKR

These figures are estimated for standard domestic single-phase connections. The final demand notice amount may increase if:

  • You apply for a three-phase meter
  • The required load is higher
  • Additional poles, wiring, or transformer work is needed
  • The property location requires extra installation work

The time required to install a new electricity meter may vary.In most cases, the process takes 15 to 30 days for normal domestic connection after payment of the demand notice.It depends on connection category. Basically there are 3 main categories of Mepco electric supply connection according to load.

Category 1 (Up to 15 kW) Expected days = 30 .These 30 days are due to following process.

Category 2 (16 to 70 kW / 400 volts) Expected days = 44

Category (71 to 500 kW / 400 volts) Expected days = 73
